Bishop, Abraham, age 92 of Tamarac, Florida passed away on January 11, 2009, survived by his wife, Beulah Gandell Bishop. Born June 21, 1916 in Weissport, Pennsylvania the son of David and Rose Bishop he was a graduate of Lehighton High School, Lehighton, PA, class of 1933. He moved to Hazelton, PA where he was in the auto wrecking and used car business and later worked in the garment industry. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII with the 331st Infantry Regiment of the 83rd Division of Ohio. He participated in five battle campaigns and was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge and Bronze Star. He retired from the U.S. Army Reserves where he attained the rank of Major. Upon retirement in 1980, he moved to Tamarac, Florida where he enjoyed many years of golfing, bowling, cards and spending time with his family and friends. He was an active member of Congregation Migdal David. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Beulah Bishop, and his children, Atty Richard S. Bishop (and wife Faye) of Scranton, PA, Janis K. Block (and husband Barry) of Aventura, FL and Rosanne B. Namm (and husband Michael) of Aventura, FL, 3 grandchildren (David, Stefanie, Bishop Traub, and Craig) and great grandchildren (Fiona Rose Bishop and Celia and Charlotte Traub) and sister, Esther Goodman of Boca Raton, FL. He was predeceased in death by sisters Bertha Saidman and Grace Klemow.
