Alex Baron was born February 22, 1920, and raised in Cleveland, OH. He graduated from John Adams High School in 1938 and served in the Army Air Corps from 1942-1946 as an instrument flying instructor. He received an American Theater Ribbon and Good Conduct and Victory Medals as a Sergeant. Upon discharge, Alex and his brother ran the Baron Department Store until his retirement in 1986. He was also active in the JWV Post 44 where he served as commander. He enjoyed doing volunteer work for the IRS and AARP as a tax counselor for the elderly. He is survived by his loving wife Sylvia (Shaynee) whom he was married to for over 60 years and his loving 2 daughters, 5 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
