Jeff was part of Tamarack Camps, based in Bloomfield Township, Michigan, and was a longtime Tamarac camper who joined the staff five years ago. He was a guitarist and song-writer and spent the last two years as Director of Camp Kennedy, an outpost camp for 15 year olds seeking wilderness camping experiences. Jeff, 26, was killed when a tree fell on his tent during a severe thunderstorm in Algonquin Provincial Park in Northern Ontario, Canada, where staff members and 17 campers were spending the night. Musically, a gifted guitarist who left an imprint of his soul in the songs he wrote, produced and recorded on four self-released solo CDs. His undergraduate degrees came from Eli Broad School of Business at Michigan State University and he was on his way in the fall of 2006 to attend NYU for additional degrees. Jeffrey Grey is survived by his parents, James D and Ruth Grey; sisters and brothers-in-law Rachel & Jason Ellis; Emily & Jordan Berman of California; grandparents Sarah & John Nemon. Sarah is a Past National President of the Ladies Auxiliary. John is a Past Department Commander and N.E.C. of the Jewish War Veterans of the U.S.A.
