Max Schnitzer

October 8, 1895 to March 16, 1987

Max was born near Odessa, Ukraine. He came to the U.S. in 1910. He lived in Philadelphia, Pa. where he worked as a carpenter. He was inducted in the U.S. Army on January 2, 1918. He was sent to France assigned to the 79th Division in the Engineers. He participated in Meuse-Argonne and Grand Montagne battles. Upon his return home, Max met and married Sophie Greitzer. They had two children, Edith and Norman. Max was a caring father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He loved having his family around him.
